- The description of this bird was consistent with an immature Arctic Tern and provided several key field marks (especially the long white tips of the secondaries), but failed to make note of the primary patterning and the relative shape of the bird in flight. A one person sight record, so the species would only have been added to the hypothetical list even if accepted. It was published in Illinois Birds and Birding vol. 2 p. 41.
