- This record was thought to be likely correct (unaccepted only after four rounds of voting), but it was seen only briefly in good light, several of the best field marks of Gyrfalcons were missing from the description (especially the tail length and shape), and the described proportion of the tail covered by the wings on the perched bird was incorrect. It was pubished in American Birds vol. 40 p. 119.
