- As far as IORC was aware at the time of review of this record, there were no confirmed southern Illinois records of this species, and only two records of white morph Gyrfalcons in the state overall, so a white Gyrfalcon in southern Illinois in a mild winter would need a more clear and thorough description to be convincing.
